Every Child Deserves a Little Christmas
The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program’s mission is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas. The program helps to spread the message of hope to the less fortunate children and help give them the special Christmas they deserve. The Foundation also aides in playing an active role in the development of one our nation’s most valuable resources – our children.
About the Foundation
Back in 1947, Major Bill Hendricks started Toys for Tots from the inspiration of his wife. Maj. Hendrick’s wife, Diane, had made a couple of handcrafted dolls to donate to the less fortunate. Upon returning to his wife, Bill said he could not find such an organization to donate to so she instructed him to “start one!”. In 1991 the Marine Toys 4 Tots Foundation was officially established as a non-for-profit charity. Since then, the Foundation has grown wildly successful and distributes an average of 18 million toys to the 7 million less fortunate children each year.
